Wordless Wednesday: Discovery of Photosynthesis in my town

  1. How cool that the town honors a botanist! I did see the photo of your son, and just found it again. Nice that he's already studying orchids, he certainly is an adorable naturalist :-)

    1. Yes, it's wonderful. Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen at Bowood House, which is just out of town too. Lots of useful science happened in this area. I don't think enough is made of Jan Ingen Housz in my opinion!
Thanks! He does seem interested in the natural world, always showing me spiders and bees and bringing us lots of dandelions!

  2. I hadn't heard of him before and now wonder why not. He ought to be known by all of us right from school!
I've moved from Dorset to Halifax (West Yorkshire) and to reflect this very different, urban environment and to avoid confusion I've created a new blog - Loose and Leafy in Halifax. That's where all new posts will go now.

    1. Hi Lucy, nice to hear from you. I don't know about you, but I don't remember much plant science being taught at all in school.
That's exciting news. I'll pop over to your blog and have a read.
