I'd forgotten all about this, as I don't remember being made aware of it since I was a child! But I keep coming across this Code on various websites, so I thought I'd replicate it here - just as a quick and handy resource.
Five simple messages summarise the Code:
1.be safe – plan ahead and follow any signs
2.leave gates and property as you find them
3.protect plants and animals and take your litter home
4.keep dogs under close control
5.consider other people
