Floriade 2012 - A world horticultural expo: A world of 2 million plants

Once every 10 years for the past 60 years something special happens in the Netherlands - a horticultural show of epic proportions. With more than 100 participants, of every facet of horticulture, focused on the Floriade 2012 theme of 'Be part of the theatre in nature, get closer to the quality of life', the expo this time around promises to be even more special.

Not only because the horticultural show has 66 hectares of exhibition site, including the largest European indoor flower show with ultra cool theme worlds including 'Relax and Heal' and 'Green Engine', and not only because there's a fabulous cultural programme, but because the site of Floriade 2012 will be left as a permanent legacy in the form of Venio GreenPark. After the horticultural show, which lasts from 5 April until 7 October, the site will become a sustainable business park which allows this edition of the Floriade to drive development of the knowledge of sustainability, which the site serves as an apt example.

To browse the site of the Floriade, see this page which includes a 3D map, also if you're wanting to plan a trip there (remember you have until October), check out the calendar which has many exciting events including a street theatre. If you want to check out the prices then see the ticket comparison page or seach Floriade 2012 in Google to find many coach tours and other travel options. For a good explanation of the many options; air, road, train, of getting to the Floriade checkout this page.
