Common Daisy - Bellis perennis

Date Photographed: 01/03/2012
Location: Park off Ruskin Avenue, Melksham
Resources: http://www.kew.org/plants-fungi/Bellis-perennis.htm
Notes: The flower structure of a daisy is a composite of many flowers known as an inflorescence. What looks like a norman petal on the flower heard is many tiny complete flowers called florets. The daisy has sterile florets - the white petals called ray florets and reproductive florets containing the reproductive organs (stamens and ovaries) - the yellow florets called disc florets.
