Round-leaved Sundew - Drosera rotundifolia

Date Photographed: 10/08/2010
Location: Near Conwy, North Wales
Resources: http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/plants/plant_finder/plant_pages/11098.shtml
Notes: The leaves are covered in sticky sugary hairs, the dew drops. These are used to trap insects as the hairs bend towards the insect and act as digestive juices, while the leave eventually enclose the insect. The Common Butterwort also digests nutrients from insects.
